Allusions is an exploration of the musical side of bass music with a distinct west coast twist. The album features collaborations with Bay Area dubstep don Dubsworth, MC Ill Chill, and the UK’s Talabun on the mic. The record closes with The Light featuring noted Bay Area jazz vocalist Rachel Mazer.

The collection of tracks presents an authentic fusion of reggae, jazz, dub, and deep dubstep. Thoughtful lyrics, emotional impact and pristine music production are all hallmarks.

Subtle Mind is a dubstep duo based in LA by way of the Bay Area. They began producing tracks in 2010 and have since been supported by Joe Nice, Truth, Gantz, BunZer0, DJ Chefal, and Bakir. Support that has culminated in their first international appearance at the quintessential bass music Mecca: the Outlook Festival in Pula, Croatia

Subtle Mind became known around the world in 2013 with the release of “Gravitate” (TUBAd 004). The EP earned critical acclaim, being called “forward thinking bass science” by Juno, and was said to posses “a strong connection between both harmonically and melodically-driven music, and the percussive sound system testing sounds of reggae and dub” by FatKidOnFire.
Releases have followed on Surfase Records, Dubs Alive, and Deep Heads.

TUBA is a vinyl imprint based in Brooklyn, releasing forward-thinking bass music. TUBA pushes new releases from the finest producers on the contemporary bass music scene.
